“I’m sure some of you have followed this story somewhat, but for those of you who haven’t, Damon Weaver is a student reporter from Florida who made a name for himself by snaggin’ an interview with Joe Biden, and ending the interview with ‘Joe Biden is now my homeboy!’ …

“He requested an interview with then-Senator Obama, but it never happened. So every time he’d interview a celebrity or politician (and he’s interviewed several … lol) he would ask them, ‘Do you think Mr. Obama should grant me an interview?’ or something along those lines, and they would send a message to Obama to grant the lil kid an interview.

City sets up Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK – March 30, 2009 – Following a unanimous vote by the New York City Council, Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday signed the legislation establishing the Bed-Stuy Gateway Business Improvement District in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York City’s 64th, and Mayor Bloomberg’s 20th. Beginning in fall 2009, the Bed-Stuy Gateway BID will provide district management services to properties along Fulton Street between Classon and Troy Avenues and along Nostrand Avenue between Halsey Street and Atlantic Avenue.
